Bob,

My 1996 machine vibrates somewhat at around 60mph, but I've never thought it abnormal as it is a single cylinder. Even though there is a counterbalancer in the engineworks, any bike has its quirks and I think Savages in particular "shake" a bit more than other bikes I've ridden. When I rev mine up going through the gears, the vibrations are more pronounced than at "normal" shifting points so I think the counterbalancer might be more effective at certain speeds than others. I do notice that above around 65mph I feel a bit more engine feedback than I usually do, but haven't been bothered by it, nor worried about something being amiss. Probably, each Savage has its own characteristics, too, so all the folks on this site might experience different things with each different bike. Keep track of your bikes "feel" and if you notice something changing then I'd have it checked out, especially if you're not too confident in your mechanic's abilities.

Now, where exactly is that oil "drop" located, when looking at the front of the engine ? Is it from a nut/bolt which points downward ?

Tim
